THE UMBRELLA
The Umbrella was commissioned by Open Up Music and performed by the National Open Youth Orchestra, an ensemble formed of young musicians with and without disabilities. It was the start of the long working relationship I have had with Open Up Music and the National Open Youth Orchestra, which has included three compositions and several new arrangements.
I received the 2018 Ivors Composer Award in the Community or Educational Project category for The Umbrella.
