FOREST FIRE

Forest Fire is an artwork created around the 'Forest Fire' mathematical model that explores self-limiting properties in stochastic systems. Trees randomly grow, and fires randomly break out and spread. The viewer determines the likelihood of each event, and watches as the state of equilibrium in the system shifts.

Forest Fire was created in collaboration with Edward Crane, a specialist in probability, analysis, and dynamics, during my time as Artist-in-Residence with University of Bristol School of Mathematics.
